・エコフォーマー(eco-farmer)・・・・・持続性の高い農業生産方式の導入の促進に関する法律１９９９年１０月施行）に基づき都道府県知事から「持続性の高い農業生産方式の導入に関する計画の認定を受けた農業者（認定農業者）の愛称名（２００３年３月末現在、全国で２万５５７３人）導入計画には、導入に関する目標や技術、目標達成に必要な施設の設置、機械の購入、その他の措置等を記載する。エコフォーマーに認定されると、農業改良資金（環境保全型導入資金）の優遇や税制上の特例措置が受けられる。環境保全型農業者の数は着実に増大しているが、縦割り行政などにより、、エコフォーマーのほかに有機JAS規格（→有機食品検査認証制度）、特別栽培農産物（減農薬、減化学肥料栽培）といった制度があり、生産者や消費者の間で認証や表示などの点で若干の混乱が見られる
