・最後まで諦めない・・・・・指導者は最後の最後まで志を失ってはならない。

・三成が家康を相手を戦を起こしたこと、またその戦の進め方などについては、昔から是非いろいろに論ぜられているようである。しかし、このように最後の最後まで諦めたり志を捨てることのない態度には、非常に学ぶべきものがあるように思う。三成自身も本多正純にいっているのだが、その昔伊豆に平家打倒の兵を起こした源頼朝は、緒戦に惨敗し、一命も危ういところを朽木の洞穴に身をひそめて、辛うじて難を逃れ、後再び兵を挙げて今度は首尾よく天下をとったのである。もし最初の敗戦に「もはやこれまでだ、名もなき者の手にとらわれるより、・・・・・」などと考えて、切腹していたら、後の彼はありえなかったわけである。だから何事によらず、志をたてて事を始めたら、少々うまくいかないとか、失敗したというようなことで簡単に諦めてしまってはいけないと思う。一度や二度の失敗でくじけたり諦める
というような心弱いことでは、ほんとうに物事を成し遂げていくことはできない。世の中は常に変化し、流動しているものである。ひとたびは失敗し、志を得なくても、それにめげず、辛抱強く地道な努力を重ねていくうちに、周囲の情勢が有利に転換して、新たな道がひらけてくるということもあろう。世にいう失敗の多くは、成功するまでに諦めてしまうところに原因があるように思われる。
・もちろん、ただいたずらに一つのことに頑迷に固執するということではいけない。あくまで変化に応じ得る柔軟性というものも一面きわめて大切なのはいうまでもない。しかし、一たび大義名分を立て、志を持って事にあたる以上、指導者は、一パーセントでも可能性が残っている限り、最後の最後まで諦めてはいけないと思う。
