＜ペット（犬）の気持ちを理解する＞・家族と仲良く暮らす！幸せペット（イヌ）の７つの目標・・・幸せな犬とは、生活の基本をきちんと身につけさせてもらった犬のこと。一緒に暮らすパートナーだからこそ大切なことなのでは！・共同生活の基本７ヵ条・・・もともと頭の悪い犬はいません。しつけのいきとどいた犬になるか、手のつけられないわがまま犬になるかは飼い主さん次第です。「この犬と暮らしてよかった」と実感してください。
・目標１・・・飼い主のいうことをきく・・・呼べばくる。無駄吠えをしない。人をかまない。悪いことをしそうになったときは、飼い主の制止に従う。（マテ！）飼い主のいうことをきちんときけるかどうかは、犬と人間が一緒に暮らしていくうえで、一番重要なことです。この基本さえしっかりできていれば、愛犬との生活がうまくいくことは約束されたも同然。でも、何事も基本が一番難しいのです。犬をめぐるトラブルのほとんどは、この基本ができていないことから起こります。
・目標２・・・トイレがきちんとできる・・・決められた場所できちんと排泄。この目標がクリアできれば、犬との生活はグンと快適になります。トイレのしつけは、はじめの数週間が勝負。飼い主がしっかり排泄を管理しましょう。
・目標３・・・散歩が上手にできる・・・犬がぐいぐいリードを引っ張って飼い主さんが後からついて歩く。よく見る光景ですが、上手な散歩はしつけの基本。犬は飼い主の横にぴたりとついてお散歩しましょう。
・目標４・・・留守番が上手にできる・・・飼い主がいないときは、ハウスでおとなしくお留守番。帰って見ると部屋はグチャグチャ、おまけにオシッコやフンが・・・・・という状態では、安心して出かけられません。
・目標５・・・上手にグルーミングをさせる・・・ブラッシング、つめ切り、シャンプー、歯磨きなど、健康のためにも身だしなみが大切です。おとなしくお手入れされる犬はきれいで愛される犬になれるでしょう。
・目標６・・・ほかの犬となかよくできる・・・よその犬とすれ違うたびに、ワンワン、キャンキャンでは困りもの。公園デビューもままなりません。愛犬には犬同士も友好的でいてほしいですね。
・目標７・・・飼い主以外の人にも友好的である。・・・誰かれかまわず吠えたり、飛びつく犬はいませんか？家族とよい関係であるのはもちろん、近所の人、友人や親戚など、みんなにかわいがられる社交的な犬にしつけましょう。
